Las Baklavas
Friday, September 4, 10:00 p.m.
Confident, untamed, and unmistakable
A musical whirlwind that sweeps from the Andes to the Balkans—rousing, powerful, untamed.
Their music is a colorful mosaic of traditional melodies, modern sounds, and an energetic, feminine expressiveness. The young band from Strasbourg blends the past and the present into a vibrant musical universe that invites you to dance, celebrate, and feel.
On stage, six musicians create a soundscape where acoustic and electronic instruments, rap, polyphonic vocals, and influences ranging from jazz to techno come together. In doing so, they create an exciting tension between tradition and innovation, where playful lightness and profound messages dance together.
Las Baklavas break with convention and place female creativity at the heart of traditional music. Whereas women often appear only passively and on the sidelines in old song lyrics, Las Baklavas give them a full voice in their reinterpretations and original compositions, asserting their identity, presence, and rights—self-assured, untamed, and unmistakable.
Their concert is much more than just a musical experience: It’s an invitation to immerse yourself in the band’s collective energy, let yourself be carried away by their joy of playing, and perhaps even take a fresh look at your own perspective in the process.
