Uglydub

Berlin during the early 2020s: Here, somewhere between 140 and 185 bpm, UGLYDUB was born. Two musicians who express their common love for modern bass music with drumsticks and a violin bow.

Running the flag of “Drum and Bass and Violin” the duo plays high-energy live sets of liquid, halftime and neuro sounds, molding somber basses, orchestral strings and driving rhythms into an impressive experience for eyes and ears.

On their TRYPTOPHAN EP, released in 2021, the two show that they don’t attach too much importance to clearly defined genre boundaries. Lovely melodies encourage daydreaming, only to be pulverized by rattling bass volleys shortly afterwards.

UGLYDUB’s music is as colorful and unpredictable as the world from which it springs.
